Not fully done yet, still some open issues, but first success in getting contacts and phone numbers:
Create a new Phonebook:
Choose LDAP as data source:
Give it some reasonable name:
When at LDAP Settings, go first to the Settings tab and change the ID Attribute to "uid":
Then enter your L2CPBG configured settings:
Once your LDAP connection is green:
Choose the addressbook which shall be imported (at the moment only one addressbook can be selected):
Now you should see some attributes. Go on by clicking next, next, next, ...:

It's working now on my side with version rc3.
